Environmental Horticultural Science Major

Here you won't just sit in a classroom.

You'll be out in our fields, in our groves, our greenhouses, nurseries or arboretum and gardens.  You'll get your hands dirty.  You'll soak up the California sunshine.  And you'll sweat.  It's all designed to give you the knowledge, skills and experience it takes to make a real difference in the world.

You'll learn the science behind the practical applications.  You'll discover real-word solutions.  You'll collaborate with cutting-edge industry pro's.  You'll even have fun and make life-long friends.  And through it all, you'll unlock a broader spectrum of possibilities than you ever thought possible.

All this in an environment where you sit down and discuss your interests, your challenges, and your dreams with an extraordinary person who cares about your success.  A person who's not just your professor, but your advisor and mentor.

The environmental horticulture industry in California is a multibillion dollar business. California is the location of some of the largest nurseries, greenhouses, and landscape maintenance companies in the United States and ranks second among states in the number of golf courses. Environmental Horticulture students have excellent opportunities for summer internships and are exposed to the latest technology. Graduates typically have numerous job opportunities.

So, if you're ready to be a leader, we're ready to help make it happen.
